Lisa Chubb is a jewellery designer and maker working in silver and base metals. Her work is increasingly influenced by Myths and Legends, film, theatre and history within arms and armour. Ancient Samurai has influenced Lisa’s current work with specific interest in the ancient warrior’s armour. She feels a satisfaction in the vibrant colours, texture and patterns within the material of the armour and is trying to recreate the texture in metal. Texture and surface quality is an important aspect within the work and so creates an impulse to touch as well as being visually intriguing. The collection gives the wearer the ability to touch the essence of texture contained by the jewellery, and to the viewer, visual stimulation.
